Scholarship Opportunities

More than $15,000 will be awarded to students whose families are involved in the Oklahoma beef cattle industry. All applicants must be a graduating high school senior in the spring of the current year or a current student at an Oklahoma college or university with definite plans to continue in the fall.

Preference points will be given to applicants who are a son/daughter or grandchild of a current Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association (OCA) member or a current member of the Oklahoma Junior Cattlemen's Association (OJCA).

Applications are due May 15, 2019.  

Recipients will be notified no later than July 6, 2019. Scholarships will be presented at the 67th Annual OCA Convention & Trade Show, July 20-21, 2019. Ranch Rodeo Scholarships will be presented at the 35th Annual OCA Ranch Rodeo, August 23-24, 2019.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must be involved in the beef cattle industry with plans to continue their involvement through their educational and career plans.
  • By June 1, 2019, applicants must have been awarded a 4-year degree and be enrolled in and/or pursuing a post-graduate degree (Master’s, PhD, Law Degree, Etc.)
  • Applicants must be able to show experience and involvement in cattle industry leadership activities.
  • Individual applicants must be annual or lifetime members in good standing of the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association (OCA) or their state cattlemen’s association (This DOES NOT include Student, Junior, College, Cattlewomen, Family, Ranch, Spouse, Parent, Grandparent, or Breed Association Memberships).
